Mastering Maternal Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is an intensive, half-day course that features expert-led lectures and live demonstrations focusing on the practical applications of ultrasound in maternity care. Participants will engage in advanced assessment techniques for evaluating cardiac function, lung pathology, inferior vena cava and lower extremities during pregnancy. The course will also address critical maternal scenarios, including hypertensive emergencies and cardiac arrest. Additionally, attendees will gain valuable insights into education and credentialing pathways for point-of-care ultrasound. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with actionable expertise, ready to seamlessly integrate POCUS into their clinical practice and enhance maternal care directly at the bedside.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
Interpret key ultrasound findings relevant to maternal emergencies such as hypertensive disorders, cardiac arrest, and respiratory distress.
Identify educational pathways and best practices for integrating POCUS training and credentialing into obstetric practice.
