Dr Bromley is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine. She attended Stanford University where she received a BS and MS in Biological Sciences. Dr Bromley received her MD from Cornell University Medical College in 1983 and subsequently completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. She went on to do a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. After completing her formal training, she joined the Maternal Fetal Medicine faculty practice at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In 1994, she returned to Massachusetts General Hospital as one of the founding members of the new division of Obstetrics. She is a part-time professor at Harvard Medical School and an adjunct professor at the University of Hawai’i. Dr Bromley is also a partner in Diagnostic Ultrasound Associates, a private OB/GYN imaging facility that performs diagnostic ultrasounds for women throughout their lives. Her practice is limited to prenatal and gynecologic sonography. Dr Bromley has authored more than 150 papers /chapters on the prenatal diagnosis of fetal conditions and gynecologic abnormalities. Dr Bromley has held multiple leadership positions within the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and is the current First Vice President. She also serves as the chair of the Foundation for the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Dr. Alfred Abuhamad currently serves as Mason C. Andrews Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Radiology and Executive Vice President, Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University. Dr. Abuhamad is a past President, Provost & Dean of Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Abuhamad had served as past President of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), Society of Ultrasound in Medical Education (SUSME), Perinatal Quality Forum (PQF) and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). He is also founder and past-Chair of the Council for Patient Safety in Women’s Health Care, in Washington DC. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts, authored eight textbooks in fetal echocardiography, ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, first trimester ultrasound and office procedures, and received numerous national and international awards including the 2019 Commonwealth of Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award and the 2022 Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Life-Time Achievement Award. He is the recipient of the National Institute of Health RO1 grant to study “Novel Tools for the Noninvasive Evaluation of the Human Placenta”. Dr. Abuhamad established the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology’s (ISUOG) outreach program and has led several ultrasound training missions to the developing world to include Haiti, Ghana and Somaliland. He is well known internationally for his work in ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, fetal echocardiography, global outreach and patient safety. Dr. Abuhamad has been a faculty member at EVMS, at ODU and a citizen of Southeastern Virginia for 32 years.

Dr Kremkau is a Professor of Ultrasound Education at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Professor Emeritus of Radiologic Sciences at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is a Past President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, holds fellowship in multiple organizations, and authors the textbook, Sonography Principles and Instruments, which is in its 10th edition.

Dr Afshar is a physician-scientist with clinical and research interests that intersect and include high-risk pregnancy, prenatal ultrasound, placental biology, and cardiac disease, either affecting the mother or fetus. She is the co-director of the UCLA Cardio Obstetrics program and the PI of her basic science laboratory, The Afshar Lab.

Tracy Anton is an Ultrasound Practitioner and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. Tracy has spent the majority of her career in academic medicine, with a primary focus in maternal fetal medicine, fetal echocardiography, and pediatric echocardiography. She serves as faculty lecturer, hands-on instructor, and mentor to fellows, residents, and ultrasound students. Tracy is a dedicated, life-long learner and a passionate educator with a primary focus on improving detection of congenital heart disease. She is a member of various national societies and is currently serving on the Executive Committee for the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. In 2018, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine awarded Tracy with the Distinguished Sonographer Award, recognizing her significant contributions to medical ultrasound.
Wouter Froyman, MD, PhD

Wouter Froyman graduated as a Medical Doctor at KU Leuven in 2011. He finished his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2018 and has since then worked as a consultant in this department at the University Hospitals Leuven.
His main clinical activities and research are related to gynecological ultrasound and treatment of benign gynecological pathology, with special interest in minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery.
In 2019, he obtained his PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, with a doctoral thesis entitled "Progress in differentiation and clinical management of adnexal masses". In 2020, he was appointed associate professor at KU Leuven. He is also a steering committee member of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) studies

Yvette S. Groszmann, MD, MPH, completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. In 2009, she left general ob-gyn practice to pursue a fellowship in ob-gyn diagnostic ultrasound with Dr Benacerraf and is now an expert sonologist in early pregnancy and gynecologic ultrasound. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound (AIUM), a past Vice President of the American Institute of Ultrasound (AIUM), a past Chair of the AIUM Gynecology Community of Practice, and a lecturer at Harvard Medical School. She teaches gynecologic ultrasound to the Brigham and Women’s ob-gyn residents and REI fellows, has co-authored a textbook on gynecologic ultrasound, and lectures nationally and internationally.
Lauri Silver Hochberg, MD, FACOG, FAIUM

Dr. Hochberg is an Associate Professor and the Division Director for the Gynecologic Imaging Division for the Department of OB/GYN at University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine. She is an expert in gynecologic imaging and uses transvaginal ultrasound to understand, evaluate and treat many different conditions including adnexal masses, abnormal uterine bleeding, and pelvic pain. Her research interest of using transvaginal ultrasound to evaluate adnexal masses has led her to work on several studies as part of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) group. Dr. Hochberg is a fellow member of the AIUM and holds the following two elected leadership roles: Vice Chair of the GYN Community of Practice and Board of Governors. She is a member of the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinical Standards Committee.

I started radiology " way back when" because I thought ultrasound was fascinating! I still feel the same today after nearly 40 years in the field. Teaching is my passion and my research efforts focus on Women’s Imaging, in particular, prenatal diagnosis. I have multiple publications and have co-authored several textbooks on the topics of breast imaging, ultrasound and obstetric imaging. I have been able to mentor numerous medical students as they apply for residencies in Radiology and Obstetrics and Gynecology and have been proud to see several Women’s Imaging and Body Imaging fellows embark upon successful academic careers.
James M. Shwayder, MD, JD

James M. Shwayder, MD, JD, is an Adjunct Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida. Dr Shwayder received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. From 1982–1998 he was in private practice in Newport News, Virginia. In 1998, he joined the faculty at the University of Colorado. In Colorado, he also earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from the University of Denver College of Law in 2003, being admitted to all courts in Colorado. In 2006, he joined the faculty of the University of Louisville as the Director of Gynecology and Director of the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He ultimately became the Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs at Louisville. In 2012, he assumed the Chair at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he remained until 2018.
Dr Shwayder is a Fellow of ACOG and a Fellow of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). He also has served on the AAGL Board of Governors and the AIUM Board of Directors. For AIUM, Dr Shwayder has been the Chair of the Clinical Standards Committee, Chair of the Coding Committee, and previously served as the AIUM representative to the AMA CPT Advisory Committee. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. He is also an editor for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and a past editor for Obstetrics & Gynecology. He was the Co-Editor for ACOG’s 7th and 8th edition of Prolog: Gynecology and Surgery.
With over 40 years of ultrasound experience, he is recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in gynecologic ultrasound. Dr. Shwayder is widely published and writes a bimonthly article for the Legally Speaking section in Contemporary Ob-Gyn. He is the co-editor, with Dr. Steven Warsof, of a recently published book entitled Legal Concepts and Best Practices in Obstetrics: The Nuts and Bolts Guide to Mitigating Risk.
Lori Strachowski, MD

Dr. Strachowski served as Director of Ultrasound at San Francisco General Hospital for over 18 years with primary interests in gynecologic and obstetrical ultrasound. She also specializes in breast imaging and co-founded the Avon Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center at SFGH where she served as Medical Director and Women’s Imaging Fellowship Director for 10 years. Dr. Strachowski has a passion for teaching and has received numerous teaching and clinical excellence awards including the Excellence in Teaching Award by the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators, Hideyo Minagi UCSF Radiology Resident Teacher-of-the-Year Award, Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound Ana Lev-Toaff award and is a 3-time recipient of the Clinical Consultant-of-the-Year award by the UCSF Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. At present, she serves as the Chair of O-RADS for the American College of Radiology.
