Sonographic Features of Common Aneuploidies and Syndromes
Most recognized aneuploidies and syndromes have common and well-recognized abnormalities that may be identified by prenatal sonography. Many of these abnormalities are well known, such as Down syndrome with a thickened nuchal fold. However, newer and more sophisticated sonographic markers are routinely reported. These may help in identifying fetuses suspected of having genetic disorders, but practitioners remain unaware of these features and how to identify them sonographically. This course aims to review the ultrasound features, including new or subtle findings, of many common aneuploidies and syndromes, so that attendees may be able to implement these strategies to improve prenatal detection.
