The Morbidly Adherent Placenta

This session will address the current role of ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of the morbidly adherent placenta. On completion of this session, participants should be able to: (1) identify sonographic characteristics suggestive of a morbidly adherent placenta; (2) identify characteristic findings on MRI suggestive of a morbidly adherent placenta; and (3) describe additional modalities in evaluation of the placental bed utilizing Doppler and 3- and 4-dimensional settings that may enhance the diagnosis.
