The purpose of this course is to provide health care professionals with recent and continuing advances in the field of breast ultrasound. Input from previous evaluations, faculty expertise, and relevant clinical data is used to determine needs and scope of practice.

By the end of this activity, participants will be able to: Demonstrate the application of breast sonography in their current practice; Identify sonographic breast anatomy and describe the performance of breast sonography; Describe the performance of invasive breast procedures under ultrasound guidance; Understand the critical components of a breast ultrasound report, using accepted lexicon and staging standards; Correlate breast ultrasound findings with mammography and other imaging modalities; Describe the sonographic appearance of benign and suspicious breast lesions; and Demonstrate familiarity with the latest developments in breast ultrasound including screening breast sonography.
